2024 Holiday Event Sells Out!

Women in Leisure Services hosted the annual Holiday Event on December 3 at Arlington Lakes Golf Club and the event was at capacity with 80 people registered. The board would like to thank the Arlington Heights Park District for allowing us to use this wonderful space!

Following the tradition of the past few years, the main event was learning something new. This year, Program Director Amanda Kochenash taught us how to etch a variety of patterns on glass. Attendees had their DIY project choice of a Reed Diffuser with Custom Oil Blend or a Pair of Stemless Wine Glasses. Outreach Director Nicole Derrig created a beautiful charcuterie-style appetizer table and all attendees received one complimentary beverage.

As always, networking took place throughout the event – you never know who you are going to sit next to at a WILS event - and  making connections in our industry is a large part of our events.

Festive aspects also included the $5 faves gift exchange, an “ugly” sweater contest and the always popular scholarship raffle. Thanks to the generous donations of the following individuals and park districts, we offered a raffle with twenty prizes. Thanks to the generosity of our WILS Chi Chapter members who purchased raffle tickets, we raised over $1,000 for the WILS scholarship program.
